We Are Granted "TÜBİTAK 2209A National/International Research Projects Fellowship for Undergraduate Students"

Our senior Psychology Department students Damla Çetinkaya, İrem Şengiz, and Buse Aday are awarded the “TÜBİTAK 2209A National/International Research Projects Fellowship for Undergraduate Students”. The project will be carried out from December 2021 through June 2022 under the guidance of Assistant Prof. Asiye Kumru from the Faculty of Social Sciences.  Research will be conducted with 400 university students (with 200 female and 200 male students) in Turkey between the ages of 18 and 25 to analyze the relationship between positive childhood experiences and social/emotional loneliness in young adulthood. Data will be collected through an online survey and analyzed by researchers. The results obtained will be presented at scientific conferences and published in journals. The project outcomes are expected to demonstrate the potential long-term relationship between positive childhood experiences and the feeling of psycho-social loneliness in young adulthood, and make significant contributions to the development of protective and preventive intervention programs in childhood.
